A significant number of girls become pregnant, while they should be in school. Most of these teenage girls are poor and vulnerable, lacking a good education, shelter, food and healthcare. We believe that an empowered girl means an empowered nation which means an empowered generation. Hence the project “Protect Girls’ Rights”. This project falls in line with SDG 4 and 5. The project was launched on 25th of April 2018 and our immediate action is a TV reality show of poetry recital among high schools, which starts in September 2018. The TV show is to help build the confidence level of girls to speak for their rights. As part of the campaign, Mrs. Cathreine Mikado who is the director of girls’ education unit of Ghana education service and the founder of A2Z FIRM MOVEMENT (NGO) were on the NEWDAY morning show on TV3 to throw more light on the campaign.
