Two medium carrots, peeled and chopped, 1/2 frozen banana, 2 cups spinach, 1 cup unsweetened soy milk, 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder, 1/8 cup golden raisins, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, dash of ground nutmeg, dash of ground cloves, and three ice cubes. Throw all of the ingredients into the blender and mix until smooth.
Oatmeal is a great breakfast option. You can up the fiber content by adding applesauce, using dried blueberries versus raisins,and stirring in flaxseeds and chopped almonds. By adding together 1/2 cup rolled oats, 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce, 1 cup blueberries, 1/2 tbsp flaxmeal, and 8 chopped almonds your total fiber content will be a whopping 11 grams.
Egg White Bites
If you’re looking for a healthy low calorie meal that’s delicious, egg white bites are exactly what you need. There are a ton of variations to choose from – so feel free to add or omit any of the veggie and meat ingredients that you want to. You’ll need 10 egg whites, chopped veggies – tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, carrots, chopped meat – ham, ground turkey, etc, seasoning (salt and pepper) and/or whatever other herbs you enjoy. Put the veggies and meat into a muffin tin and then pour egg white to fill each section up. Bake for 20 minutes on 350-375 and then c’est finit!
The recipe usually makes six egg white bites, but feel free to change it up. You can freeze or store the remaining in the fridge to eat throughout the week.
